The key qualities of a Gym Leader is a person who: - Have a good understanding of competitive battles in Pokemon. - Have been a member for long enough for the community to know who you are. - Is polite and respectful toward other members and can act as a good role model for other members.
Being recommended by other members is usually wanted.
What comes next? I recommend: - Earn more badges - Be polite and have a good time in the server(s). - Be helpful toward other members in #help
I wish you a good day and hope to see you around in our chats. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Contact: That was a thorough walk-through of what it means and how to be a Gym Leader. If you have any questions, feel free to @nirthpanter in #nirthpanter in the NPC League Discord server. If you are interested in becoming a Gym Leader you may fill in the form below.
Our #1 goal in the NPC League Discord server is to create a good place for anyone to come and enjoy Pokemon battles. This includes new and experienced trainers, and Gym Leaders alike.
We want our Gym Leaders to represent our server well and function as role models for the rest of the server's members. We want Gym Leaders of a gradient of skill levels, to make it suitable for Pokemon Trainers across all skill levels.
Please be aware: We want to get to know our future Gym Leaders a little before we consider them suited for the Gym Leader role.
We have built the server so that the Gym Leaders have the ability to open and close their gym as they like. Rule #5 states the following: Do not ask Gym Leaders when their Gyms will be open. This is to prevent any pressure for a Gym Leader to open at other times than when they want to enjoy some Pokemon battles. If you are able to open your Gym on average once a week or more, that is very acceptable.
Monotype team rules: A Gym Leader has to have a monotype team. This means that all Pokemon has to be part-type your Gym Leader type. For example, if you aspire to become a Fairy type Gym Leader, like I am, all your Pokemon will need to be part Fairy type.
Upon request, we are now allowing a Gym Leader to have 1 "wildcard" per team. This means that 1 of your 6 Pokemon on your team can be a Pokemon of any choice (so long it is within our ruleset). To continue our example, I as a Fairy type Gym Leader am allowed to have these Pokemon on my monotype Fairy team:
WHO ARE YOU? I am a 20 year old boy from Norway and a content creator on YouTube. Besides making Pokémon themed videos, I am also a full-time student and livestreamer. I enjoy content creation and want to contribute to the Pokemon community with useful, entertaining and inspiring videos. You can have a look at myBest Videos to learn more about my nirthpanter YouTube channel. I aspire to become the best Pokemon guide creator on YouTube one day. My goal in life is to have a nice family. To have a nice family and to work creatively is my dream in life.
WHAT DOES NPC MEAN? The abbreviation 'NPC' has a lot of meanings. Most would be familiar with the term 'NPC' as a 'non-playable-character', which the characters inside the Pokemon games are typically referred to as. I used to end my videos with "be your very best" and as you should be yourself and no one else, a non-playable-character for anyone but you, I figured NPC would work well as the name of our community. NPC can also mean the nirthpanter community which means the people Subscribed tho the nirthpanter YouTube channel.
WHY DO YOU DO YOUTUBE? My mission in life is to become a good parent and being a content creator would allow me to work from home and spend a lot of time with my future kids and family. This has been very important to me the past 5 yearsand I work hard as a content creator to hopefully make this a practical option for me in the future.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, HOW CAN I SUPPORT YOU? This is always flattering to see in my YouTube comment section. I am very grateful for being able to bring people value. The best way to support is to watch videos. I do, however, aspire to become the best Pokémon video guide creator of all, and additional resources are much needed to let me make more videos. You can support by the exchange of rewards on Patreon.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE TO MAKE VIDEOS? You can have a look at the RESOURCES page for a full list of my equipment, in case there is anything you would like to acquire as well. I use a desktop for everything I do: video recording, video editing, writing, building my website, finding information. The software I use to record videos with is OBS Studio which is free. It is a really good software program that I highly recommend if you make videos on a desktop or a laptop. I use a 3DS Capture card for my current Pokemon videos when making video guides or when having battle livestreams. I am against simulators and are only playing Pokemon on Nintendo's systems and GAME FREAK's official Pokemon titles. You can have a look at the unboxing for one of the 3DS capture cards I have used.
HOW DID THE NAME nirthpanter ORIGINATE? I went into a detailed story about the origin of nirthpanter in this livestream.
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y were the two first 3D world mainseries Pokémon games and takes place in the beautiful Kalos region. This generation of Pokémn games introduction of 72 new Pokemon and 28 Mega Evolutions. The concept of Mega Evolution is one that I really enjoyed and this region is beautiful. These games used to be my favorite games for years. As there are newer 3DS Pokemon games for the Nintendo 3DS Systems I recommend looking into those games over these, though I would argue all 3 sets of games are very worth playing!
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire played as the follow-up version in the 6th generation for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. These take place in the Hoenn region and featured 20 new Mega Evolutions and continued the Mega Evolution timeline that started in the Kalos region. The story of these games and battle mechanics were what made these games really good. Going back to an old region and listen to some of the great Pokémon music remade was satisfying. These games were a good end to the 6th generation of Pokémon and definetly games to consider playing.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon changed so many things about the Pokémon franchise mainseries games and are definetly a set of games to play if you own a Nintendo 3DS System. They introduced the 7th generation with the Alola region featuring 80 new Pokémon including Ultra Beasts. Alolan Forms of the Pokémon Ninetales, Exeggutor and Marowak as well as other previously known Pokémon was introduced and they had an interesting lore to them. Pokémon Gyms were no longer and instead the Island Challenge with Trials on the different islands of the Alola region was the journey you as the player is to head out on. The music in these games was great and the general atmosphere like with the evil teams and cut scenes made these games my favorite games. If you have the opportunity to acquire a Nintendo 3DS System to play these games on I highly recommend it!
These games have their release date set for November 17th, worldwide. I am excited to get to play these games and write about them here. Be aware you can pre-order or order the games using the given links! Watch out Ganondorf!
Carmichael, Evan (2016). Your One Word: The Powerful Secret to Creating a Business and Life That Matter. http://amzn.to/2hdlpIS(10/10)
This book is brilliant. It systematically breaks down how you can dramatically change your life through the lens of 'your one word'. Create it around your core value and let it guide you through the personal and professional challenges you will face in life. It will be your motivation and sense of purpose. This book is more than just a book, it's a philosophy. My one word is #Gratitude. I recommend anyone to read this book, whether you are in business, healthcare or science, or a family focused person. I would like to defend this book from two negative comments I've seen in other reviews. I've come to the conclusion people who think the following have misunderstood the book: 1. there is no reason for a business' earnings to be mentioned, and repeated. 2. the book repeats its content too much. First of all, the reason why the businesses' earnings are mentioned is to guide you in understanding the mindset and decisions of the actions taken by the business. Focus and decisions done by a $50,000 business and $1.5M business are drastically different in a lot of ways, and therefore this reminder of the size of the business is of good help. Secondly, the book repeating itself is even disclaimed in the book and described as 'important takeaways from this chapter', and it presents elegantly the most important things to remember from each chapter. The ending of the book I was very impressed by too, so if you start listening to the book, but don't finish, in my opinion you would lose out on some real value. I listened to the audiobook version on Audible and I very much enjoyed the author's narrating of his book.

It's about being effective, not just efficient. This book changed my mindset positively and made me more openminded than before - a personal goal of mine - and is recommended for any reader. I listened to the audiobook version of this on Audible.

Klein, Marty (2013). Sexual Intelligence: What We Really Want from Sex - and How to Get It. http://amzn.to/2iJU7du(10/10)
This book presents a concept described as sexual intelligence which makes sex impossible to fail, because you're not aiming for success. Because you're not comparing yourself to a standard of normal, there are only two standards left: #1 Do I like it? #2 Do my partner enjoy this with me? This book's message is to 'make sex a place to relax, instead of a place to succeed' and in my opinion, the way the author presents his 30 years of experience as a sex therapist I am very glad I read this book. His use of examples and case studies makes it easy to understand and learn from. If you are interested in broaden your mind on the topic of sex and intimate relationships this is a good book to read. I listened to the audiobook version on Audible and I liked the narrator's reading style despite typically preferring the author to be the narrator of their own book.

Vaynerchuk, Gary (2009). Crush It! Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion. http://amzn.to/2xz6kEt (7/10)
I already had a good idea of what Gary's spheal was all about and I was aware of most of this book's content from before. There were some good lessons and advice in this book, especially when it comes to mindset and practicality. Legacy > Currency. The Process is greater than the result. Service above merchant. Quality of connections > amount of connections. Practical ways to make your passion in life a substancial living as well as arguing it's more likely do make you more successful down the road as you will naturally pour your energy and effort into something you enjoy. This is something we've seen with content creators and creative people on YouTube the past 8 years - I'd also like to emphasize the fact this book was published in 2009! Gary is on the right side of history, so I recommend you to pay attention to what he has to say. I am also glad the book was read by the author.
Business, Content Creation, Marketing, Mindset, Personal Branding.
Despite being well aware of Gary Vaynerchuk's spheal, this book brought me a lot of value. Statements like: 'Every interaction matters. Every relationship has value', 'Culture + intent = word of mouth' and the importance of 'RCV - Relashionship Context Value' made me look at my content creation from a different angle. What I got out of reading this book was the importance of caring about the other person. You should give more than you ask for: 51/49 is the rule. If you are interested in any of the associated topics or themes as listed on the bullet point bellow, this is a book I would recommend you to read or listen to. I listened to the audiobook version on Audible and I was happy Gary was the narrator of his own book.
